Make your move in Mexico
Mexico is a critical part of North America’s manufacturing, financial, and supply-chain network — and a significant market for Utah companies looking to grow internationally.
Join Gov. Spencer Cox and a Utah delegation for a trade mission focused on advanced manufacturing and financial services. Participants will engage with qualified buyers, potential partners, government stakeholders, and industry leaders through targeted programming in Mexico City and Monterrey.
The trade mission will include a government track led by the Governor's Office of Economic Development and business tracks led by World Trade Center Utah, creating opportunities for participating companies to develop relationships, gain market intelligence, and explorecommercial opportunities.
Industry focus
Advanced manufacturing
Mexico’s expanding manufacturing base and continued investment in nearshoring, automation, and supply-chain diversification are driving demand for industrial equipment, technology, materials, logistics solutions, and professional services.
Financial services
Industrial expansion and cross-border investment are also creating opportunities across corporate banking, trade finance, treasury management, insurance, cross-border payments, investment advisory services, and financial technology. Participating companies will have opportunities to connect with banks, fintech companies, insurers, investors, corporate finance teams, industrial firms, and other organizations supporting cross-border commerce.
Why Mexico?
A major commercial relationship
Two-way U.S.-Mexico goods trade reached approximately $873 billion in 2025. Utah-Mexico goods trade exceeded $5 billion during the same year, making Mexico the state’s No. 2 export market.
A central role in North American supply chains
Mexico is deeply integrated into regional manufacturing and industrial production, creating opportunities for companies involved in sourcing, production, logistics, technology, and related services.
Two strategic business centers
Mexico City offers access to federal decision-makers, diplomatic stakeholders, and national industry leadership. Monterrey is one of the country’s leading industrial and financial centers, with strong activity in advanced manufacturing, banking, trade finance, insurance, fintech, logistics, and investment.
Timely market intelligence
The trade mission comes during the first six-year joint review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Following the July 1, 2026, review, the United States declined to extend USMCA for another 16-year term in its current form. The agreement remains in force while the three countries continue annual reviews and negotiations.
Current discussions include automotive rules of origin, steel and aluminum, agriculture, labor, economic security, regulatory compatibility, and North American supply-chain resilience. For participating companies, direct engagement in Mexico can provide timely insight into potential changes affecting sourcing, compliance, investment, and long-term business strategy.
