South Korea is ready to invest. Utah is ready to partner.
When Utah’s delegation touched down in South Korea, the conversations felt less like introductions and more like picking up right where we left off. Boardrooms buzzed with possibility, factory floors revealed new technologies, and shared meals turned into strategy sessions. Utah’s strengths — from lithium extraction and electric propulsion to inland logistics and university-led R&D — lined up powerfully with Korea’s industrial priorities. Leaders at POSCO, LS Electric, Hanawa, and others didn’t just show interest; they discussed tangible investment, including a projected 500 to 600 new jobs in Enoch, Utah.
It’s clear: Utah and South Korea are running on the same wavelength.
From exploring a nonstop cargo route between Incheon and Salt Lake City to co-developing medical technologies and reducing global supply chain risk, the opportunities are real — and growing.
Thanks for joining us, Anson Resources, EP Systems, Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, Ionic MT, Quanterra Holdings, SLCDA, Steed Group, Strider Technologies, Utah Inland Port Authority, and Representative Koford with the Utah Legislature.
This business trip is in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, the University of Utah, the Utah Inland Port Authority, and the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce.
WHY KOREA?
South Korea sets global trends — from beauty and fashion to entertainment and e-commerce. As one of the world’s top 10 beauty markets and a leader in digital retail, it’s defined by high consumer expectations and a sharp eye for innovation and branding.
More than 200 Utah companies already do business in South Korea, supported by strong ties through the University of Utah Asia Campus and the new Utah chapter of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce.
Last fall, Gov. Spencer Cox led a 47-member delegation to South Korea. We returned in June — and this September, we’re going back to deepen those relationships and open more doors. This trip is your chance to tap into one of Asia’s most influential consumer markets with on-the-ground support and direct connections.
