Driving global growth with the European Union

During a dynamic time in global trade, Utah business leaders hosted Jovita Neliupšienė, the EU’s ambassador to the U.S., for an exclusive meeting with our board meeting focused on strengthening transatlantic ties. Ambassador Neliupšienė was joined by Melissa Holyoak, commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, for a conversation on international partnerships, trade, technology, and regulatory collaboration between the U.S. and Europe.

The discussion emphasized the EU’s strong relationship with Utah and the need for ongoing dialogue around evolving global policies. Trade was highlighted as a key driver of emerging markets — rapidly growing economies that are reshaping global supply chains and investment opportunities. They also explored differing regulatory approaches in technology, AI, and critical minerals, reinforcing the need for continued alignment and cooperation across sectors.

This meeting offered an invaluable opportunity to deepen Utah’s relationship with global partners and to highlight our state’s growing role in the transatlantic economy.
