Guiding partnerships in Guatemala 🇬🇹
Building interpersonal relationships is the first step in doing business abroad, and WTC Utah’s Global Exchange: Guatemala made that happen.
The conversation highlighted the breadth of opportunity in Guatemala, from manufacturing, textiles and technology to clean energy, infrastructure, logistics and nearshoring. Leaders also discussed the importance of strong relationships, clear business conditions, and the right support systems to turn those opportunities into action.
Utah’s business ecosystem offers resources for companies looking to grow internationally, including WTC Utah’s role in connecting businesses with customers, funding, professional services, and government programs.
The exchange went beyond business, celebrating Guatemala’s rich Mayan heritage and sparking conversations about connecting Guatemalan women with opportunities. Through programs like Be Humanitarian – an organization dedicated to supplying women and children in need with educational and nutritional tools – they’ve developed a community centered around uplifting others. A group of dancers also performed a traditional routine, paying homage to the culture’s vibrancy.
The takeaway: global business starts with people. Conversations like these create the relationships that can lead to partnerships, investment, and new opportunities for both Utah and Guatemala.
