This fall, Governor Spencer Cox led a delegation of Utah companies to explore business opportunities in Monterrey and Mexico City; but before we went, we welcomed Mexico to Utah!

On Thursday, October 12 at 11:30 a.m. Utah companies joined us for a Crossroads of the World luncheon with Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma Barragán. This special in-person event allowed Utah companies the opportunity to meet Ambassador Moctezuma and learn more about opportunities for business in Mexico.

An accessible destination for nearshoring the manufacturing of goods, Mexico also offers a large and diversified market for companies looking to export both products and services to a new market. But the numbers speak for themselves – during our 2022 governor-led business trip to Mexico, Utah businesses secured $52.55M in new business opportunities!

This event was hosted in partnership with Brigham Young University, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, and the Salt Lake Chamber.
