The Gulf’s most open market

Bahrain is redefining what business access in the Gulf can look like — and Utah companies are well-positioned to benefit. With 100% foreign ownership in most sectors, no tax on personal income or capital gains, and unrestricted repatriation of profits, it offers a transparent, investor-friendly environment that drives momentum across the region.

Ranked among the freest economies in the Middle East, Bahrain is also one of only two GCC countries with a U.S. free trade agreement, which lowers barriers and simplifies the path for American firms. The U.S.-Bahrain Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) builds on that foundation, expanding cooperation in trade, telecommunications, and emerging technologies.

Join us for a conversation with Bahrain’s top U.S. diplomat, Ambassador Abdulla bin Rashid AlKhalifa. Learn more about where the country is headed — and what that means for Utah industries in engineering, finance, energy, advanced services, and information and communications technology (ICT).

His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid AlKhalifa

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the U.S.

Ambassador AlKhalifa has served as Bahrain’s representative to the U.S. since 2017 and has held influential roles across Bahrain’s public sector, including leadership in the Royal Court and service as governor of the Southern Governorate, the country’s largest and fastest-growing region. He led a landmark partnership with D.A.R.E. to expand anti-violence and anti-addiction education nationwide and helped develop Bahrain’s National Anti-Drug Strategy with the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime. His work reflects a focus on collaboration, community development, and strengthening U.S.-Bahrain economic and security ties.
