Opening doors in Canada for Utah’s mining industry
We’re heading back to Canada — and we’re bringing a targeted delegation of Utah mining leaders with us.
This August, WTC Utah is leading a business trip to Toronto and Sudbury to help Utah companies deepen relationships and gain strategic insight into Canada’s mining landscape. The visit offered a valuable opportunity for companies expanding into one of the world’s most important mining hubs.
This business trip builds on the momentum of our April trade mission with Gov. Spencer Cox and is hosted in partnership with the Utah Mining Association and the Ontario Mining Association.
Participating companies will:
Meet with Canadian mining officials, exploration companies, and supply chain leaders.
Tours of mines and smelters to learn about local operations and innovation.
Learn how to navigate Canada’s permitting, environmental, and financial frameworks.
Gain insights into regulatory landscape, labor standards, and sustainability expectations.
Explore opportunities for long-term partnerships in innovation, and sustainability, and responsible resource development.
Let’s dig in — and position Utah at the forefront of global mining opportunities. .

Why Canada?
Canada and Utah are natural partners in mining. Both regions are rich in critical minerals and committed to responsible development. Canada offers transparent permitting, high regulatory standards, and deep industry expertise — plus access to global capital through the Toronto Stock Exchange, home to nearly half of the world’s public mining companies.
For Utah companies ready to grow, Canada is close, compatible, and full of opportunity.
