Utah Dual Immersion program number one in the country

Initiated in 2008 with the Critical Language Bill (SB 41), Utah's Dual Immersion program was launched with a challenge to be the finest dual immersion program in the country.

With a focus on providing a rich bilingual experience for young learners at the elementary school level, Utah's program offers instruction in Chinese, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.

"With Dual Immersion, we have a way forward to ensure that Utah students are acquiring the skills, knowledge and dispositions necessary to be competitive in the world marketplace," Larry Shumway, Utah Superintendent of Public Instruction.
