“Asian Political Involvement and Striving for Their Rights” will be the topic of the keynote speaker, Weber State University Professor Huiying Wei-Arthus, at the upcoming Sixth Annual Convention of the Chinese Association for Science & Technology in Utah (CAST-UT) on Saturday, January 12, 2013. In addition, there will be guest speakers from the Chinese Embassy.

CAST-UT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting communication and mutual understanding between the U.S. and China. Their focus is specifically to:

  • Build relationships and exchange programs between China and United States in the areas of science, technology, education, culture, business, and trade;
  • Promote traditional Chinese culture and local Chinese community activities to the general public in the United States;
  • Provide networking and collaboration opportunities among Chinese scholars and professionals in the United States.

The annual convention is one of the most important events of each year for CAST-UT and it has been drawing more and more organizations, business associates and professionals from the U.S. and abroad. Attendees are from universities, enterprises and governments of both the U.S. and China. Previous conventions have included topics such as:    International Collaboration & Cooperation in Science & Technology, Global Investment and Business Opportunities and The Importance of Shared Values in Healthcare, Education and Research and Industry
